Karate New Zealand

In conjunction with Sport NZ, Karate NZ has a focus on children and youth, male and female, with a diversity cultures.

Through our national network of member dojo’s across the country, we help parents of children achieve what they want for their children - discipline, mental focus, self defence, physical coordination, and confidence.

For parents of teens, we help them stay involved in the lives of their teens. For teens themselves, we help them build a strong sense of purpose in their lives, by making great friendships, developing the ability to defend themselves, developing their physical fitness and their confidence. For those interested, there is the opportunity to compete and represent their country and travel nationally and internationally through sport karate.

WHAT IS KARATE NZ ?

Recognised by Sport NZ and the World Karate Federation as the governing body for karate in New Zealand, we are a voluntary, non profit organization committed to fostering and developing opportunities for all New Zealanders to participate in traditional and sports karate at all levels.

For our member clubs, Karate NZ arranges seminars and coaching clinics to assist its members in improving existing skills and learning new skills in the practice, coaching, and administration of traditional and sport karate.

Karate NZ arranges training camps and tournaments at regional and national level to provide opportunities for members to participate in sport karate at their preferred level. Karate NZ also maintains affiliations with national and international bodies to provide for grass roots local karate through to elite and high performance Karate athletes to compete at the highest level.
