2025 New Zealand National Karate Championships

Invitation to the 2025 New Zealand National Karate Championships

We are honoured to invite you to the 2025 NZ National Karate Championships — the premier event on the national calendar for Karate practitioners across the country.

This is a premier category event for competitors aged 14 and over. The open divisions will continue in the 10–11 and 12–13-year-old categories. This provides ten to thirteen-year-old development and intermediate athletes with a valuable opportunity to compete alongside premier-level athletes, fostering growth and experience at all levels. The age for categories is determined as of August 30th.

The Championships are open to all competitors aged 10 and over, with divisions based on the athlete’s age as of August 30th, 2025. All entries for athletes, coaches, and referees must be submitted through their club or regional officials.

However, please note that if a 10-11 and 12-13 year old competitor wins a medal in a premier division, they will be expected to continue in that division throughout the 2026 season.

We look forward to welcoming you to an event that celebrates skill, dedication, and the spirit of Karate in Aotearoa.
